Perpetual Dublin.

Through a general interest in brutalism, I sought to investigate the impact of brutalist architecture in Irish society, through a lengthy process I began to understand Ireland’s past & present architectural history. This made me decide to create a number of outputs that reflected on such topics. I began by creating a data base through instagram and established a website for citizen’s to voice their own opinion on our current architectural situation. I then utilised their concerns to form a book, and created two typefaces based on the main characteristics of which citizen’s described, such as imbalance or uncertainty. I also created them based on the geometry & repetition within brutalist architecture. With this body of work I wanted to create somewhere for citizen’s to have a place to share their thoughts on the situation they’re currently enduring and from that produce a body of work that represents their opinions.
