Dublin Food Cooperative

The Dublin Food Co-operative is the longest-running wholesale Co-operative in Ireland. The Co-op’s roots lie with a group of friends involved in a campaign to stop the Government building a Nuclear Power Station at Carnsore Point, Co. Wexford. The aim of this project was to create an authentic, recognisable brand identity that communicated effectively its aims and mission that is coherent, consistent, and versatile across multiple platforms. The brand identity is inspired by the Dublin Food Cooperatives’ revolutionary roots and continued commitment to activism. The identity was informed by in-depth research methods. The playful logo reflects the diverse and energetic personality of the co-op and its members and the choice of typeface communicates the language of protest and community. The visual system is communicated with a number of handmade illustrations to further echo the co-op’s mission of creating a supportive inclusive community.
